HTTP Content

HTTP Content is often used to transfer many other sorts of files. It is often used today in electronic commerce applications to transfer XML files from one machine to another, with neither of these machines involving a browser or a user. Banks often use XML to structure banking information and banking machines often use HTTP to exchange this XML structured information. A typical XML document provides structured data and an indication of the meaning of the data: typically, it does not provide formatting indications, as does HTML. HTTP is also used to transfer VoiceXML, WML (WAP markup language), and other XML document types. HTTP is often used as the file transfer protocol for P2P file sharing.
